The school will take place at the Melbourne Brain Centre top floor conference room.
Melbourne, Australia
Melbourne, Australia's second-largest city, has been named World's Most Liveable City for seven years in a row by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). The ranking recognises, among other things, Melbourne's public transport and its world-class restaurants. In January, it hosts the Australian Open, one of the four “Grand Slam” events in tennis (Together with Wimbledon, Roland-Garros, and the US Open). Nearby it offers beaches, including the world-famous surfing beaches of Torquay and Bell's Beach, as well as great hiking and climbing.
Visa
Australia has strict immigration laws. All visitors need a visa to enter, though citizens of some countries may qualify for an electronic eVisitor visa. Please check your visa requirements here. If you do need a visa, please apply as soon as you receive your invitation letter to the school. Some students accepted to past schools had to miss out because of visa issues.
Travel
Travel to Melbourne airport, MEL.
Transportation
There is a Skybus service from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station in the Melbourne CBD. Closer to the date, we will try to arrange shared taxis for students arriving at similar times.
Accommodation
In addition to being liveable, Melbourne is an expensive city to visit. You are welcome to book your own accommodation, but we have arranged a group rate of $95 per night per person at the Rydges on Swanston hotel, a short walk from the venue. It is a twin share room with other students from the school, and breakfast is included. We highly recommend this option.
